The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) was formed to replace the revenue agencies in the administration of taxes and customs duties in the country. In December 2009, the three tax revenue agencies i.e. Customs, Excise & Preventive Service (CEPS), Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and the Value Added Tax Service (VATS) and their Revenue Agencies Governing Board (RAGB) were merged in accordance with Ghana Revenue Authority Act 2009, Act 791.
Registrar General's Department (RGD) was established under the Ordinance 1950 during the Colonial days. It became a department of the Ministry of Justice and Attorney General in 1961. It is mandated by the Government of Ghana to ensure efficient and effective administration of entities inter –alia the registration of businesses, industrial property, marriages, administration of estates and public trustees as a way of providing customer friendly services and accurate data for national planning.
The National Information Technology Agency (NITA) is a public service institution established by Act 771 in 2008 as the ICT policy implementing arm of the Ministry of Communications. It is the agency responsible for implementing Ghana’s IT policies with the mandate to identify, promote and develop innovative technologies, standards, guidelines and practices among Government agencies and local Governments.
