Taxpayer Registration and Business Re-registration

Hoping 2013 is going well for all GCNet Clients, Partners and GeGov Project Stakeholders.

 

Under the new automated systems being implemented by GCNet and its technical partners, the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) in conjunction with the Registrar-General's Department (RGD) is re-registering existing Taxpayers and Businesses and, registering new ones in order to

1. Update Taxpayer and Business Registration Records
2. Improve Service Delivery
3. Reduce Compliance Costs and
4. Promote Investment Collaboration.

Taxpayers at the GRA Domestic Tax Revenue Division (DTRD) offices that is former IRS and VAT Offices in Accra/Tema are urgently requested to re-register to facilitate the use of the new software systems.

All individuals including business owners, company secretaries, directors and partners behind the various RGD registered organizations should register for their Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) with GRA and then proceed to re-register their organizations at the RGD for new TIN and new business certificate. All employers are to register their employees for TIN with the GRA.

RE-REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS:

INDIVIDUALS – COMPLETE AND SUBMIT INDIVIDUAL TIN APPLICATION FORM TO GRA DTRD OFFICE WITH  COPY OF ONE OF THE FOLLOWING VALID IDs – VOTER ID, DRIVER LICENCE, NATIONAL ID OR PASSPORT PICTURE PAGE FOR ISSUANCE OF A NEW TIN  AND TIN CERTIFICATE

RGD REGISTERED COMPANIES – COMPLETE RELEVANT RE-REGISTRATION ORGANIZATION FORM AND ATTACH RELEVANT COPIES OF UP TO DATE YEARLY RENEWAL OR ANNUAL RETURNS RECEIPTS AND ASSOCIATED DOCUMENTS LISTED BELOW TO RGD. NOTE TINs FOR INDIVIDUAL AND / OR COMPANY MAY BE REQUIRED FOR COMPLETING THESE FORMS:

  • Sole Proprietor – Certificate of registration, Form A and yearly Renewal fee (GHS15.00)
  • Subsidiary Business Name - Certificate of registration, Form C and yearly Renewal fee (GHS15.00)
  • Partnership – Partnership Registration, Form A, deed of agreement and yearly Renewal fee (GHS35.00
  • Company Limited by Shares – Certificate of Incorporation, Certificate to Commence a Business, Forms 3 & 4, Regulations and all amendments, confirming current officers of the company and Yearly annual Return fee (GHS35.00)
  • Company Limited by Guarantee - Certificate of Incorporation, Certificate to Commence a Business, Forms 3, Regulations and all amendments, confirming current officers of the company and Yearly annual Return fee (GHS35.00)
  • External Company – Registration letter, Forms 20 and 21, Power of Attorney appointing Local Manager, Yearly renewal fee  (USD500.00)
     
FOR ISSUANCE OF NEW CERTIFICATES OF REGISTRATION, NEW TIN AND TIN CERTIFICATE
RGD will waive annual renewal fees or annual returns submission that have been in arrears beyond ten years.
 
ALL OTHER ORGANIZATIONS NOT LISTED ABOVE - are required to complete and submit GRA TIN form and attach relevant documents or letter to GRA DTRD office for issuance of new TIN.

APPLICATION FORMS FOR RE-REGISTRATION AND REGISTRATION CAN BE PICKED UP AT GRA DTRD OR RGD OFFICES OR DOWNLOADED FROM OUR WEBSITES – www.gra.gov.gh, www.rgd.gov.gh
